About

Roadtrip is a free daily trivia game. Every day there is one new route across America with six stops, and it is the same route for everyone.

How a trip works

Each stop is an overhead road sign with a question, like “Name a breakfast cereal” in Battle Creek or “Name a horror movie” in Sleepy Hollow. You have 30 seconds of gas to name anything that fits. Guess as often as you like; wrong guesses cost nothing.

Any right answer moves you down the road. The rarer it is, the farther you drive:

At the end you get a postcard, a trip rating and a row of colored squares to share with friends, without giving away any answers.

Made from scratch

The highway, the scenery, the little pink car and every road sign are pixel art drawn in code for this game. The music is original chiptune, also written as code, and changes as you drive from the city into the suburbs, farmland, desert and mountains.

The question lists are hand built, with hundreds of accepted answers per stop, so small typos and last names count.

Who makes it

Roadtrip is made by the Roadtrip team. Ideas for a stop, an answer we missed, or anything else: [email protected].
